Corrections Policy

A visible correction note is appended to the publication indicating what was changed, when, and why. The original text may be preserved with a strikethrough, or the correction may be described in a note — whichever serves reader clarity. Factual errors that affect the reader's understanding of a core claim are always noted publicly.

When a passage is technically accurate but could mislead a reasonable reader, we add a clarification — clearly labeled — without altering the original text. The clarification explains what the passage means, what it does not mean, and why the distinction matters.

When a publication omits context that a reasonable reader would need to evaluate a claim fairly, we add that context. The addition is labeled and dated. We do not silently rewrite history — we append.

Spelling errors, broken links, formatting issues, and other minor corrections that do not affect the reader's understanding are applied without a correction notice. The fix is made; the substance is unchanged. If you believe a 'minor' correction substantively changed meaning, you may report that as well.

If a publication contains errors so fundamental that correction is insufficient — for example, if core claims are fabricated or the publication relies on sources later revealed to be fraudulent — Acquire Publishing will retract the publication. A retraction notice replaces the publication at its original URL, explaining what was retracted and why. The original publication is not removed; it is marked as retracted with the notice at the top.
